JOB GOAL:Responsible for the overall operation, leadership, achievement and
maintenance of the site-based center for children and staff
TERM:Twelve Months

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Administrative Responsibilities
1. Provide daily oversight of all aspects of the Head Start program, supervision of staff,
ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, adherence to OSHA guidelines, and RPSB policies.
2. Develop and execute an ongoing program of activities that contributes to the care,
growth, and development of children and families.
3. Supervise all personnel assigned to center. Monitor staff activity to ensure completion
of required tasks by each category of staff. 4. Operate the center program in conformity with Head Start and RPSB standards for the
physical safety and well-being of children and adults who use the center.
5. Schedule assignments of center personnel, paid and volunteer, to ensure adequate
adult/child ratio at all times.
6. Review all children's files for completion, i.e. all required documents and signatures,
contacts notes, written family goals, consent forms, etc.
7. Plan, implement and evaluate an ongoing professional development/coaching
program for center staff. Maintain personnel folders on all staff.
8. Take leadership role in planning and maintaining full parental involvement at the
center. Provide staff resource to Parent Committee.
9. Conduct monthly meetings with center staff, including Family Service Advocates and
coaches. Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and IEP meetings as required.
10. Plan, organize and monitor the recruitment of children and families to meet and
maintain full enrollment and wait-lists.
11. Requisition the supplies necessary for the operation of the center. Keep inventory
of the office, maintenance, safety supplies and equipment.
12. Conduct daily walkthroughs of center and address any concerns immediately.
Assign the task of opening the site and conducting final walk through to ensure that all
children and staff have left the building safely with appropriate oversight and follow-up.
13. Supervise, evaluate, and manage staff efficiently and effectively within Head Start
policies and state mandates.
14. Supervise center record keeping required by licensing, Head Start and RPSB
policies, i.e. staff sign-in sheets; children's attendance/progress; health and safety
inspections; in-kind and non-federal contributions; and other documentation required.
II. Professional Responsibilities

B. Assist in the interviewing, evaluation and recommendation of applicants for employment.
C. Outreach to members in the community to develop partnerships that will support program
development and the delivery of high quality services.

H. Be loyal to the administration of the school system

K. Supervise a staff of varying educational and experiential backgrounds.
L. Establish and execute a professional growth plan and self-evaluation plan in accordance with the Rapides Parish School Board Personnel Evaluation Plan.
M. Perform other duties as required by job or requested by Head Start Director.
