REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To enable the disabled student to use his/her body more adequately
and gain optimal benefit from the educational program
TERM: Nine or Ten Months
SALARY: Nine or Ten Month Teacher Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: I. To screen and evaluate students for occupational therapy/physical therapy II. To serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team when evaluating a student III. To provide direct and indirect services to students according to established procedures IV. To provide consultant service to teachers, other professional personnel, and community Agencies V. To review, select, and evaluate materials and activities for Special Education children involved in motor skills VI. To maintain appropriate records VII. To participate as a team member in the student’s IEP (Individualized Education Program) VIII. To facilitate communication between the home and the school as it relates to occupational therapy/physical therapy issues that would impact the child’s functioning in the educational setting IX. To assist in the securing of yearly physician orders for eligible students X. To maintain inventory of occupational therapy/physical therapy equipment XI. To perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education |
